Rear Parking Sensors
Iam thinking of fitting rear parking sensors, has anyone fitted them?
If so what do you have to do? what is Land Rovers part number.
Also when looking at the rear of the car, on the right hand side, take off the side panel (in the back) there two wires, with a plug on, wrapped in foam, what are these for, could they be for the parking sensors. (I could always live in hope).Land Rover Dicovery 3. 5 Seats.

Actually to fit the original PDC sensors, you have to buy a new rear bumper as well.

What is the difference, between the bumpers.
I thought you would be able to drill holes in the original, to fit the sensors.Land Rover Dicovery 3. 5 Seats.

It might be easier and considerably cheaper to fit a non-LR sensor system. You can buy the kit for less than £100.
See this product review http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/pr..._aids.html
Halfords also sell systems and offer fixed price fitting, including painting the sensors.
http://www.parkitright.com/products.html seems good prices and also offer fitting, as do many others that can be found on Google.
I don't think you need to bother with displays. A simple buzzer works well enough and after all, you can't look at a display and in your mirrors at the same time.Matt

Thanks very much Matt for this information, I will do this, as you say while you are reversing , you cannot whatch a display.
Also L.R. as an extra on a new car want £250, then I expect they will plus this, with labour charges.Land Rover Dicovery 3. 5 Seats.

Has anyone managed to retro - fit genuine LR rear parking sensors? I know there are cheaper kits available aftermarket, but I'd like to know if genuine sensors can be fitted. I've seen LR kits for the Freelander and Disco 2, but not the D3 yet. I've got a (replacement) front bumper with sensors fitted too, so would ultimately like to have them all working as per the factory fit PDC if possible.Previously:

Can anyone tell me where the rear parking sensors plug in to the vehicle wiring? I know the wires enter the vehicle through the same grommet as the light cables behind the left rear light, so if anyone can have a look at their D3 to see which plug they attach to it would be appreciated. Hopefully it's somewhere in the storage compartment on the left side of the load area, where the towing fuses are?Previously:
