Awnings , 2.5m x 2.5m. Darche.now an ARB awning
Afternoon chaps , been looking at the 2.5 x 2.5 Darche awning for the trailer as the 2.1 howlin moon one I have fitted isn’t really big enough , ARB also do the size I’m after but not sure on the quality of either ?
Any one use either ?
This is the one I have
New one needs to come further out over the prep table

Hi
Happy days finding it cheaper
Those Darche / ARB do look very nice , are they hard to fit the awnings , do u need the long or short rails to go with the assembly plse
See there’s a lot of reference from the Aussie sites ref those awnings
I bet you’ve lost count how many hours you’ve spent on getting the unit how u want it , very jealous
As a complete side note, ages ago saw something like one of those awnings on a VW T5 camper , looked like a 4x4 as it seemed a bit higher

Well I’m in the middle of drawing up a rear bracket so it can be fitted to cover the rear of the trailer but I’ll see if it works before I make a decision -------------------------------------------------

I’ve just fitted the 2.5m ARB awning and whilst I’ve only used it a couple of times so far it’s been great.
I think at the price and the quantity of the ARB ones out there they’d be hard to beat.
I had a Fiamma F35pro 2.7m on my Defender which is a nice bit of kit, higher quality made and parts but not as easy to add anything too ie, the wind breaks or awning room.
The ARB is definitely more “agricultural” made than the Fiamma but probably easier to repair out in the field.

They don’t fit onto standard caravan awning rails unfortunately, you’d need a Fiamma for that.
They have a full length aluminium rail at the back with slots for M6 bolt heads, lots of different brackets available or make your own

Thanks for that Russ.
It wasn't quite as I thought, I'm curious to learn how the awning fits to the roof rails on the car.
There must be an "off the shelf" bracket presumably?Mods:
