RANT: Why is Business SO lazy!
OK.. I was looking at cutting my (VERY LARGE) energy bills..
I had the Scottish Government Home Survey .. It was VERY helpful ref the options, savings, loans etc...
I have now contacted SEVEN Companies about Solar PV, Heat Pumps etc..
so far TWO have actually got back to me
One was 'too busy! and 'Would Not be Cheap! ....
Which leaves ONE out of Seven!!
I have not even had a reply from the other five!!
Its a common complaint.. lack of replies... even to say 'no thanks'..
WTF is wrong with people are the just lazy!

I agree, it drives me nuts!! If a company is so disinterested BEFORE it has your money in its bank, imagine how disinterested it will be when you have a problem and your cash is safely in their possession!

We say to potential customers that we are very sorry but we are booked up over the time frame you would like you building work doing , and always reply to them , I don’t even price it if we are not going to be doing it , it can be days costing a job that you know they won’t starting next week even though you’ve told them we fit you in for 10 months , but I am always polite and let them know and 50% will wait if they want you -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

I do feel that a lot of companies just want to cherry pick jobs, recent storm, five post of a six foot high closeboard fence failed, called three companies on the Monday morning two weeks ago, yes we can do that not a problem, address, phone number all taken, two who said they we rained off that day and would be round in the afternoon, just over two weeks now and not one quote.

Very good point..
I was keen to progress as vat on all renawable is about to go up to 20%.. from the current 5%!
Ok.. im planning to borrow on the interest free scheme.. but the companies get all the ££ as soon as the work is done. And having gone to the trouble of getting a home report, a company would know that i am a serious 'prospect'.
Mrs G_Cam even asked on Facebook ... the response... nil, nothing, zilch!
If an MCS certification was not required I would just make it a DIY job, as the labour aspect adds lots of extra dosh!1 TR6 Rusting away quietly

we are in exactly the same position... Got the will, the space, the interest and have been told we will get the loan and the Rebates....
But no-one is interested... How the heck will the government EVER meet their targets...
I am seriously looking at just putting in solar PV myself and building a couple of powerwalls... The issue comes when you try to go grid-tied. Put Solar alone cannot provide enough energy ... I am looking at a turbine... again.. no-one is interested!
Did you just give up in the end.. ie would you still go PV?1 TR6 Rusting away quietly

I went PV despite the trouble. I used a local company called RDI (Thurso) who were pretty good - the surveyor did make an error when designing the layout but the solution was to our advantage
