Time for a Gearbox refurb

So, my Disco is an 2.7 05 HSE with 185k on the clock, having had it from 25k.

Had a new torque converter around 50k ago but now the gearbox is in need of some attention. Have spoken to Bristol Transmissions, who did the work last time, and they say I will need another new torque converter as the failing gearbox would have damaged that as well, which I am happy with. My only question is whether I should do anything with the transfer box while its in being done?? What are peoples thoughts?

The car is well used and I plan on keeping it as it is used for off-road trips/wild camping etc and is a second car for my wife, generally just there to haul the kids/dogs etc around and for when she needs to go further than her electric car will take her! Rolling with laughter To replace it would mean either buying something new that I would be reluctant to take off-road or buying something older that I haven’t done the work on myself, so wouldn’t really trust.

Second question is, the car is due it second set on belts and I was wondering whether the oil pump should be done at the same time? Thoughts please.

Thanks for your input and help!

Paul
