Radio volume

Hi , I have a problem with my radio volume in my Mk 3 , all was well until a few days ago when the volume dropped !!.
I used to listen to it at about 5 or 6 in the background for traffic imfo and louder for CD`s etc, now I can`t hear it until the volume is at 10, also the max volume it will go to is 35, anyone know why ?

Ps all the speakers still work as far as I can tell.
