2015 disco 4 spare key gone dead.

Hi all, been a constant Discovery owner since 1992. Mostly V8's until recent D4 when V8's weren't an option any more. Followed this forum for a while but never posted before. Found the D5 comments useful in deciding I'm better holding on to my D4 for as long as it stays reliable. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Generally all's good but yesterday my wife's spare key was dead and wouldn't unlock the doors. Battery replaced but no different. Spare key hardly ever gets used. Is there an easy way to reprogram it? Main key works fine still.
Thanks for reading.

assuming you are sure replacement battery was good and is fitted properly, try holding the fob to underside of steering column and see if car recognises it.

edit : and make sure main key is outside the car ! you wouldn't be the first to not do so Laughing

Brilliant!, it works again. Thank you so much. Very Happy

Has it reprogrammed it or just 'shook hands' with it and recognised it as legitimate?

tbh ... I was just going through logical steps of finding the fault. if it was knackered, it wouldn't have been seen by the car.

if this is the right way to re-pair them then I've learned something too !!! Rolling with laughter
