Amp upgrade
So I'm upgrading the audio on my D4 MY2012 as it's probably one of the worst sound systems I've ever come across in a car!
I've worked it out and I have the highline system with 11 speakers.
I've brought a new amp, the premium version from the same era, my question is are the 2 amp the same resistance output, the current amp works with an output resistance of 2 ohms, is my new amp the same or will I require speakers that are 4 ohms +? And are there any other issues I could encounter? I know I will need to update the CCF files which I will need a diagnostic tool for.
New amp model is 8H42-19C164-BB
Old amp model is BJ32-19C164-AG

I think you’ll need to add some more speakers, but the ones you have are probably the same. You could check the part numbers. There’s a thread on an Australian forum about upgrading the D4 system here which might help https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-...16-d4.html

Thanks,
To be fair Im planning on changing the speakers to some after market ones, I was just wondering if I needed to get 2 or 4 ohm impedance speakers, I'll have a play later and get the multimeter out.

In terms of cables and plugs on the back of a LR amp, there's a plug for power, fibre optic, 2x speakers in plugs then there's a green connector plug with green cables, what's the green plug for?

Anyone know what this wire is that goes into the green plug on a land rover amp?
