I have one of the Roof mounted DVD players in my 54 reg d3. Recently the screen has gone blank (it still illuminates a pale grey and show no instructions, no LR logo or anything else. Also the button panel on the front is not in good shape. The remote works fine though. Any suggestions as to how I might fix it myself or who I should sen it to for fixing. There is an organisation on ebay (dgtv ithink they call themselves) who have simply told me to send it in to them. No idea if they are to be trusted or if anyone else has any experience of them. Afterall, they could just tell yo its knackered and rec omment that you buy one of their reconditioned ones.
Any thoughts or pointers would be much appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Thanks Mike,
The chap selling that one on ebay is the same character who told me to send the faulty one to him. Since I have no experience of him I am naturally skeptical. Afterall, what is stopping him telling me it's knackered and then trying to sell it back to me as one he had off the shelf for £200. Just don't want to get taken to the cleaners. That's all.

I did speak to a chap (in Watford I think) some time ago who claimed to be able to repair them. As mine still functions on and off I never did try him. Not sure if I could find his details now but if you want I can have a look for them?
Presume you have tried the reset button?

The reset button for a rossen A9 , Gentley prize off the left side dome light, From when siting in the back seat, the reset button is in there, if I rember righr hold in for 5 sec then release, it might or might not work as your unit sounds fubar, but worth a try... RRSport MY12hse but don't hold that against lill o me
Hybrid TV, cubby Fridge, Surround Camera's, Sun Roof.
Disco 3 MY05hse Sadly gone
All alone in my own little world,
But everybody knows me there, so I'm ok.

Not sure what Rosen model I have but the reset button on mine is on the front LHS adjacent to the screen hinge when the screen is down. Requires a biro or paper clip to push it.

I used the Watford guy to repair mine about 18 months ago. Charged me £45 to fix, it would just eject the DVD without playing. It's been perfect ever since. He knows them inside out. I will hunt around to see if I can find his contact details.
UPDATE!
Found the info. They're called GTV:
http://www.gtv-watford.co.uk
356 St Albans Rd
Watford
01923 242493
I called them just to be sure (in case I ever needed them again) and these are the guys. The owner (v. helpful) mentioned they've had about 10 A7's during past couple months all with screen failure - an age thing? Anyway they can fix. He said either just send your unit to them and he'll call you with estimate etc,or call him first. You can trust them. Good luck.
