[For Sale] Abarth 124 Spider

Time has come to part ways with my Abarth 124.

Have been offered £17850 in part exchange so looking to get that sum in a private sale. I'd say that is a good price looking around for a fully specced version as mine is and mileage, etc.

Bought from dealer as their principles car and it has service history up to date with second annual service now due (I can get this booked in and done or reduce price by £240 - fixed price service cost at dealers, your choice as mileage is so low some people choose to leave it a short while rather than on due date)

Some details and pics;

- Current mileage is 7900 - will only go up if the sun continues, never gets used in wet
- Current private plate not included unless buyer wants as part of separate negotiation - will revert to original '67 plate otherwise

Following options fitted;
- Colour pack - the red accents on external components
- Automatic gearbox with steering wheel paddles and gearshift 'tiptronic' type function
- Bose sound pack - including speakers in seat headrests
- Visibility pack - LED adaptive, auto, headlamps, headlamp wash, rain-sensing wipers, rear park sensors
- Turini white paint with matt black bonnet and boot lid

Doesn't have the SatNav card - £400 option but can get genuine Fiat SD cards off internet for £30-40. Had it in my last 124 and its not a great system so I use TomTom (just plugs in slot in centre console)

Usual vehicle expectations; plip locking, keyless start, Climate, heated seats, electric windows, roof up or down in less than ten seconds, decent sized boot, carpet overmats, Bluetooth, DAB, MP3 connectivity, etc.

Car sounds amazing, most people seem to think it has a V8 in it (and you can 'turn it up' with sports setting to have even more aggressive 'roar' if that takes your fancy) but it's a mere 1.4 Turbo rated at 170bhp. Goes well, fun using the paddles or happy burbling along in the sun. Regularly get 40mpg. Low'ish insurance rating.

This is one of the first 1000 limited edition models (has a plaque in centre console Laughing ), expected to be a 'minor classic' they say as range now pulled.

Car is good overall condition as you would expect for the age/mileage, no accident damage, no dents or dings I am aware of. LHR wheel has a slight grazing to rim edge where it ran along kerb but it is not heavy.

Have both keys and handbooks, etc.

Looking to get the part-ex value of £17850 (it's £17000 on WBAC)

Mark, I’d recommend the ‘standard’ Fiat 124 if you like the looks. Has 140bhp and goes really well. Had one before this. Only manual in those though.

Moo - the Beemer is ‘so right in so many ways’ too for our needs at moment and the VFM is amazing given it was list price of £39,980 (virtually every one out there is specced to that sub £40k threshold for save paying the extra £315/year RFL tax ‘penalty’ for first five years of its life) and at 6 months old they retail around £22k

Currently playing dealers off against each other and best deal is from up North if I sell the Abarth but have to say they are getting keener as month ends on Thursday and I’m ready to deal ‘on the day’ so could yet part-ex. Don’t care how they price it up as we all know it’s ‘cost to change’ that counts Thumbs Up

I don’t know if you’ve ordered this yet but my sister works for a dealership and they have 14% plus finance contributions on lots of models at the moment. Let me know if you want to know more. Thumbs Up

Thank you for that very generous offer but car bought and already sat in my carport to leverage that ‘month end’ final price push Laughing

Very happy with the deal; 6 months old, 6k miles, it’s like new TBH and for the money I think it is really good VFM for the spec/model/options, etc. One of our friends has just spent virtually the same on a nearly new Focus Titanium Shocked

Was really surprised how much depreciation the German trio were showing when looking at these, Merc SLC and Audi A3; best part of 50% depreciation on year old, sub 12k motors Rolling Eyes

Horses for courses Moo, this car suits ‘us’ whereas the Abarth suited ‘me’ and even I sometimes wanted to turn the Abarth down a notch now and then. It has more performance than the Abarth too and, for me, sun out, roof down aces any hard top so I’m more than happy with this one for now

More than the ‘daily’ LR’s yes. More so when the sun is out, roof is down and I’m ‘off somewhere’.....

Don’t need to ‘set on fire’ to enjoy it. It’s my ‘3rd car’ that only goes out in the sun so used accordingly for that. However it can pick it’s frock up and run when needs to: 190bhp, flappy paddles/tiptronic, sport + setting, etc. Has more performance than the Abarth but not as noisy

But who’s claiming it’s a ‘sports car’ Wink
