Tyre squeal on carparks

Strange thing with My D4 is that the tyres squeal really bad when turning on carparks ie supermarkets ect, also did it a couple of times when changing lanes on certain part of the M5 Looked up what it could be ie tyre pressures ect but tyres seem ok , Had the alignment done when I first got the car around 14 months ago!! Anyone any idea ? And wondering if it’s anything to cause concern long term with the tyres or alignment again?

Is your DSC or ABS light coming on when it happens?

If you have a diagnostic tool do a scan of all modules and see if there's a code logged.

i think its the simple case of the two materials slipping/gripping against one another.
What tires are you running? How many miles on them?

I’ve had this too in car parks or on certain round abouts. Tyres getting closed to needing replacement.

Glad it’s not just me and is apparently “normal”

Plus I’m just a big child and enjoy it haha

No it should not do it on a D4, Freelander or Discovery Sport yes but only when the Heldex unit is failing maintenance.
Try cornering at a slower speed Whistle

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I get it all the time in multi storey car parks as they are quite tight and not the best surface. It's a lot of weight combined with tight turn causing slight loss of traction, and it can happen with new tyres too.
I've tried dropping the speed to less than walking pace, and it still happens.

It happens with lots of cars in multi-storey car parks. The concrete surface is generally quite smooth and the tyres are wide on most cars these days. The result is squealing as the concrete gives good grip and the corners are tight meaning a lot of lock and thus slip angle. Going very slowly helps, of course.

If there's no dash warning or related codes stored (ABS/SAS) it's normal tyre squeal that happens on certain but especially polished surfaces.
