OEM radio upgrade

hi from a newbie. I’ve looked through the pages and can’t find anything so forgive me if it’s there and I’ve missed it.
I have just purchased a D3 with the basic stereo and I’m wondering if I can just swap everything over for the upgraded version with phone and sat nav. I know I will need to but the steering wheel and the sat Sv screen as well as the upgraded head unit but is the wiring already there or am I creating more work.

Yes its an easy swap over if you have the basic system with no amp under the seat.

Theres no ignition feed in the wiring plug but you can find one at the cig socket if you search there is a thread running already about it

Confirm what stereo you want to fit to your vehicle?

If its the Discovery 465 with the 6 CD multi changer then I'm not sure it is done easily as it works off the MOST system with an amp under the drivers seat amongst other things

you will be much better off going for an aftermarket one with these features
android?

it will be cheaper, easier and work better

Sorry i misread the original thread i thought your were replacing your head unit for an android one.

Yes i agree with Pete K replace with an android unit it wouldbe vertually impossible to fit an upgrade oem unit
