Why don't the Police use APNR to apprehend the Censored ?

They know the driver is a criminal, he could be a rapist, murderer or who knows what!

Does make you wonder what the police agend is Question

If it was a normal law abiding person step slightly out of line we'd be done for it. But others that probably are up to other criminal things get away with it Evil or Very Mad

B Censored s, I had this a few years ago with my tractor reg. number Shocked speeding fine in London(130 miles away) with a vintage tractor Rolling with laughter not quite so funny getting the authority’s to believe it.
It was quite rife in Manchester a few years back, b Censored s where “borrowing” number plates from parked cars, putting them on their car and filling up with fuel without paying and then returning the number plates Shocked it was so rife police started a free number plate fitting service with screws that could not be undone with a screwdriver.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Worth getting a cheap private reg & slapping it on? It might nip it in the bud.

I’ve read that cloned plates can get passed around other illegal vehicles until they get too “hot”. If it happens again, I’d take Del’s advice.

Sorry.

But why would a private plate prevent cloning?

Means you can say categorically it’s not your car as it’s got a new number on it. I don’t know what happens when the old number us caught again but it might reduce the hassle. I don’t know if DVLA would change the reg of a car that’s had its number repeatedly cloned, might be worth a phone call.

It is possible the other guy has had a new set of plates made up and the number or letters are in the wrong order making it look like your number, seen it umpteen times

ANPR systems are great. I received a parking fine through the post a couple of weeks ago for overstay at a car park in Hatfield. Firstly I was at work in Rochester, secondly I have never been to Hatfield and thirdly the registration is on my Audi Q5. The car in the picture was a Vauxhall Zafira. Wasn't even my reg, they had mis-read one of the letters! Appealed and haven't heard anything back yet.
With regards to the dart Charge though, I have an account so if someone goes through on my plates, I wouldn't know as it automatically tops up and I get no notifications.
Food for thought there....

My understanding and I could be wrong, is that by changing the registration of your vehicle the previous registration resorts back to the DVLA and you’re no longer the registered keeper. Therefore you’ll not receive any correspondence relating to the use of that registration number.
