Motoreasy Warranty

just signed up to Motoreasy as my dealer warranty has expired.

£37 p/m for their Plan B Lite which covers pretty much everything including crankshaft, turbos and suspension BUT you basically have to be a mile or more from home address and recovered to a VAT registered garage but as I have full breakdown cover anyway that shouldn't be an issue.

not quite sure what you mean by ''roll over betterment''

original online quote was £44 p/m on a rolling policy but when I got them to ring me to clarify some bits he quote me the next level of cover up for £37 Shocked

I have just taken this warrantee for my truck too. Bit demoralising having to take the d3 to Halfords for a check over. “Yes sir you have the right levels and the tyres have lots of tread!”

Hope it’s worth the £35 per month!

well I wouldn't trust Warranty Wise as far as I could throw them... bad dealings in the past with them
Warranty Direct wanted £150 p/m
Motoreasy are the cheapest by far that still cover crankshaft etc... admittedly the cover limit is the value of the vehicle so a new engine could be out the window should it ever need it but if they at least cover most of the cost its better than nothing

Betterment is whereby they pay out at a lesser rate as the replacement part etc. would, in theory enhance the cars value. - I got them to email me stating it was removed.
I never claimed with them but found the on-boarding process a bit odd - especially the Halfords check up - but in fairness the lad that did the check over knew his Discovery’s and mine sailed through - he actually commented on what good nick it was in. I guess it was like a pre-emptive MOT.
The way I looked at the warranty was it’s better to have someone to argue with and get something if a part goes bang rather no one to argue with and get zero.

I have used WD on my 2005 D3 and it is still in operation at 150K miles on engine & drive train only . Last year had two new (LR Exchange) diffs , no issues claiming , Although they only pay 50% material (Betterment) ,all the labour was covered less £50 excess . It still better than having to pay all of the cost .

A little bit unfair. Want to hear some horror stories about WD? Every insurance firm has its bad days. The claim process for MotorEasy is a faff but you get what you pay for. Caveat emptor.

I just feel happier now knowing that my crankshaft and turbos covered even if I do have to argue and push if I have to claim.

As has been said, I believe all warranty companies (including LR's own) will argue the case to some degree, as will insurance companies and they all have their +/- points
