Cant have been that sunny, as temp is in the blue
Filled up the D5 on Sunday at 520 miles from last fill up with 42 mile range still showing, dont think I ever got any of my D3's or D4's much over 400mils, usually 350 most of the time - you must have been driving like miss daisy or being towed to see nearly 500miles

I didn't say it was on one tank Al it was cold as only just started up, day before the range was on 9 miles but it was obviously trying to scare us the next morning. Thankfully we managed the short tripi to refuel
Full tank range always used to be around the 350mile mark but now we are on 150K it's loosened up and can near the 450 to 475m mark on a long trip and theeeeennn......???

It would be interesting (But a pain in the bum when it does run out) to see how far you could get when it says 0 miles The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Indeed we did. And bought some diesel from the staff at a price lower than the local fuel stations, so it ended up that we got quite a bargain
Apparently it happens all of the time. They must have many idiots that visit! Kev

The monkeys are trained to syphon fuel. The stuff the staff sold to you was probably your own fuel. While you are worried about the lions, they are round the back with a few feet of clear hose and a jerry can.
I never trust the range-to-go indication. It would be interesting to see how much fuel (if any) the fuel-pump could squirt into a bucket at the '0' point. It must be fudged to be pessimistic but I am even more pessimistic. My wife trusts it and relies on it.

I always keep it above a 1/4 of a tank now. Mind you, that's mostly because timed climate doesn't work below that.Kev

Mine won't even get 400 miles out of a tank. Ran out of fuel on the M1 a few weeks back and the fuel station I hiked to didn't have any canisters... Fortunately a very nice contractor gave me one that was rattling around in the back of his van. That was a fun evening. I constantly carry it now.
I hear an engine remap will help, it's on my list of things-to-do-when-the-money-is-there. Is this true?

I have been down to 2 miles remaining on mine, albeit only once. Got down to 10 miles a couple of time.
With the Freel2, if I got down to 5 or less, the turbos wouldn't kick in. It just plodded along, with very little power. Never said limp mode or anything. Soon as I put diesel in, they worked again. I did get it down to 0 miles about 2 miles form a station. Got me there, but hardly enough power to get me out of 2nd.
I know my daily drives in the D4 are relatively short and therefore the MPG is low. Whenever I fill it up, it rarely tells me I can get more than 260miles. Even after a long drive, the mpg doesn't particularly change.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone
