NEW INGENIUM MHEV ENGINES
Seriously, is the new, unreleased, 4 and 6-cylinder Ingenium MHEV engine such a “minor” affair that it is not even advertised? I at least found out when I went to the model configurator on the web, I also observe that other models, apart from the new defender, adopt them as well, and I appreciate that the only one that seems to be left out, is the Discovery that continues with the old Ingenium and the already very old V6 of 306 HP .... is the current Discovery dying ??lost in translation!

As the Disco is built on a similar platform to the RR, RRS and RRV it is slightly surprising that it has been left out but perhaps it will come at its next major update. Maybe JLR are pre-occupied with the 2021 Defender 6 pots at the moment.Stu

Was thinking the same thing yesterday. Considering a D5 but then slapped myself as there must be a big engine update on the cards. Would be gutted to buy one now only for a new 350hp in-line 6 mhev to come up with the new Pivi pro system etc a few months later.

The 3.0 SD6, which replaced the TD6 in the D5 is very powerful and relatively frugal. I averaged early 30’s mpg over 12,500 miles in the HSE Lux loaner I had for 7 months. I assume the crank is a potential issue still though.
If the D5 suits you, do test the middle row seats, I can’t see you being disappointed by the SD6. At least whilst it’s covered by a warranty.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

The updated D5 is due soon, no real external changes.
