A question about OEM parts

If TRW are the OEM brake disc and calliper manufacturer, then if I buy TRW parts, are these essentially the parts that Land Rover rebadge as their own? Likewise Ferodo for brake pads.

I would love to know which OEM makes the consumable bits (pollen filter, air filter, oil filter etc, as the Land Rover prices are something else.....

Need an insider to spill the beans..... Smile

But, Ferodo aftermarket pads are not the same as supplied to Landrover.
Different compound.
Same with many brake friction components

Wow thanks Disco Mikey. Very comprehensive Thumbs Up

So what's the general consensus about the likes of Bearmach and Britpart?

OEM = original equipment manufacturer, but not always the component you are buying.
Ie company A supplied LR with the water pump, they also make cam belt tensioners, but never supplied LR, so therefore they are an OEM, but maybe not on the part you are buying.

Britpart and Bearmach make nowt, they are middlemen and many of theirs and other cheap parts are the same.
Does not mean they are rubbish on everything, Britpart brake callipers are good.
Anything britpart with a G on the end of the part number is also decent.

I got a Britpart account almost 18 months ago

On average, I spend around £10k a month with them

The only part I've had to send back under warranty is a D3 spare wheel winch (And I only bought it in to see if it was any good, as it was £20 less than an OEM version Thumbs Up)

Bearmach, are not so good. Items coming wrongly boxed, higher price, many more parts failures. I had over £3k of warranty returns in under 6 months...
