A5 is a petrol grade oil.
I understand that the Castrol may well be suitable for Diesel engines too, but check for 'B' and a number if you venture outside what you normally use...

Hi, the A5 oil is recommended in the amazon oil guide on the forum.

A5 is a petrol engine grade oil.
This is the important part to read:-

Meets Fords WSS-M2C-913-C, WSS-M2C-913-B,WSS-M2C-913-A
4 litre bottle
The B1 or B5 rating is what makes it suitable for Diesel.2011 MY D4 HSE

Cheap Engine Oil at Asda (5w-30w - ST JLR.03.5003)
11.01.2020 - Asda have their “AutoDrive” 5w-30 Fully Synthetic oil on offer at moment - 5 litres - £15 (normally £22)
It’s the red can and conforms to the JLR.03.5001 quality standard.

Unfortunately the Castrol has gone back up to £24.50 at Halfords - £23.48 with trade card
Just added a D4 to my driveway and thought I would do an oil change. Think I will keep an eye out and bulk buy next time the price drops.
Must stop buying shiny toys....

I try to change the oil every six months, so always looking for when it’s half price. Tesco’s used to have half price occasionally but it seems they have stopped selling it now
