Hi everybody !
It looks like i am going to part with my new D3..😢😢
I specify that i've just bought it with 126500kms...
I've just inaugurated my new iidtool bt and discover a strange thing:
- odometer store: 224180kms
- total distance : 126528kms
Then i tried another elm327 tool and the result is more or less the same:
- dashboard ecu odometer 126528kms
- terrain response general driving : 247596kms...
Do you think i go on with other investigations or is it enough to sue the garage to recover my money?
Thanks for your help.

Has the Discovery had a new engine? Can you see and evidence of major surgery under the bonnet?

Hi Flack,
Unfortunately we don't have such a MOT historic...only a HISTOVEC (different owners, big repairs after car crashes, administrative situation).
So difficult to check if the engine has been replaced...
Thank you.

Do you think the terrain response system could be replaced with a used part which would explain the different mileages ?

Give us a step by step guide to where you found both miles stored and I am sure some of us can check our cars for you.
I think mine shows the dash in Miles but stores the mileags as KMs.

HI lynalldiscovery,
I am not sure but i think it was in:
- "live values":
-Then : "IPC onstrument pack :odometer store"
The other one in:
- "TCM transmission: total distance"
Thanks a lot.

Just tried mine, IPC mileage as per dash (kms to miles) but nothing showing for TFER case or under TCM total mileage, both show N/A?

Hi,
Thanks for trying so early!
That's strange!
I will try again with my iid today to be sure.
Then i will call the garage to reach an amicable agreement, and in case of refusal, i will try with a car expert, and then justice will do the rest!
If someone has the possibility to check today it will be great, so that i will be be 100% sure before calling the garage.
Thanks everybody ! Have a good week-end.

Defo need to be 100 percent sure before talking to them, dont want to look daft!
I am sure someone else will test their car for you.
I did try the trans mileage thing a few times as was sure I was doing something wrong.
Lots of talk on the car forums/pages ref devices that you can plug into the dashboard to trick the car into seeing a lower mileage, some are adjustable, some are plug and play and others are a solder in job, I had never heard of them until about a week ago, apparently bit of a problem on cars on PCP, in the UK sort of personal lease finance type thing for new cars.

Have you asked an opinion from GAP regarding your readings?
Reason I asked is that when I read the codes on my previous D3 I never did get a correct mileage or date reading relative to the fault code activated.
Garages (here anyway) usually don't guarantee mileage on used cars
What research did you carry out regarding the mileage before you purchased the car
Does service history confirm any of the values
