LR4 HSE Lux - critical thoughts on this vehicle WITH LINK! |
|
I'd like to buy a low miles 2016 Lux to keep. Wanted thoughts on this one (not bothered about views on the black stripe - I can sort that). Wondered if more critical eyes than mine had any observations. I think the car shows more wear than I'd expect. Also concerned about the addition of the sump plate. I'd love to know if it's been offroad much.
The price is high; interesting to see if they'd negotiate.
Update - I couldn’t post a long URL from autotrader so went to the dealers website. Here’s the link - grateful for opinions (the late US LR4 were 3.0 supercharged; the 5.0 was stopped a couple of years earlier).

Doh! Foiled.
For some reason I can’t paste in the URL. It says it’s forbidden.
Any ideas? PAGODA

If I was buying a late D4 to keep it would have to be an XXV.... that way it would always be collectible and retain some value....and they are quite reasonable now...

There are so many to choose from. Just don’t bother with one that gives you any doubts, it’s a buyers market - find another in my opinion.

You say there are so many to choose from, but I'd expect that's not the case in the states going by the OPs Profile.
Even here it isn't the case.
I brought an HSE lux just before Xmas, and my choice was very limited.
Firstly because I didn't want a Tan interior, and secondly because I didn't want a Black or Grey Exterior.
Ignoring anything with more than 60K miles my choice on Auto trader came down to 2 cars on the week I was ready to go.
Luckily, one of those was in my preferance of Blue. It's a 65 plate rather than 16 plate, but apart from needing to MOT it sooner that doesn't make any difference to the spec.
It also has one of the lower milages that was on offer at 46K.
Nasher. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

The only thing about a late D4 i'd be looking at is making sure the aircon matrix was working correctly and not reading incorrectly and blowing out cold unnecessarily.
There is a long thread on it somewhere ... Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

Now you're living in the US I assume it will be the 5.0L V8 so what's not to like! No AdBlue/ EGR / turbo / crank problems. Go for it! Stu

The 2016 LR4 exists there as a 3.0 liter supercharged V6. The V8 ended in 2013 I think.
