Strange woooo noise on acceleration |
|
I have been driving through some deep floods recently, its been pretty bad around where i live in the village.
Last week i have started to get a strange noise, woooo, , like the noise of wind ripping around a door in your house. its worse first thing in the morning, but seems to quite down once the engine has warmed.
i hope its not the turbo , i have left it longer than normal between oil changes this time, or an air leak around the inter-cooler . i was thinking all that water/mudd could have caused some corrosion/damage.
There is no noise on Idle, it appears as your accelerate, around low revs, and disappears all together when driving normally, so only normally is louder when you pull away.
any one have any ideas where to look or what to try.
PS forgot to say 05 HSE now with 97K miles
Cheers
Mark

Just to be sure.. Is it definitely engine driven noise and not speed?
Engine Driven > Likely a split or lose hose, Intercooler or Turbo issue as you say
Speed Driven > Likely wheel Brg, diff or Gbox issues Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black
Disco4 MY12 SDV6 XS Orkney Grey (Gone)
Defender 90 200tdi Completely rebuilt.

How deep was the water as it may have got past the breather tubes so check the diffs and gearbox.
