[For Sale] 2008 BMW 635d Sport FBMWSH 94k £7650
2008 ( 08 ) BMW 635d Sport Coupe – Reluctant Sale!
- £7,650
- 94,800 miles
- FBMWSH
- 2 previous owners
- £2k mechanical overhaul in Dec-19 including 4x new Goodyear tyres
Going to try this here before I go public... I bought this BMW at the end of last year after months of searching for the perfect example. I then carried out additional work to make it 100% mechanically perfect, as you’ll see from the details below.. As fate would then have it, I've since been offered a new job which I've accepted, a perk of which is a shiny new company car. I’m therefore reluctantly selling the BMW, with confidence that it’ll be a peace of mind purchase for someone. It’s fantastically fast and torquey thanks to its twin turbo straight six diesel (with no lag!) and very efficient (45+ mpg on long runs) - I thoroughly enjoy driving it. I toyed with keeping it as it’s a heap of car for the money, but that would mean selling my G4 D3…
It’s finished in the most desirable spec and trim combination of BMW Monaco Blue metallic with Cream Beige Dakota leather, with the optional Dark Birch High-Gloss interior wood. The 635d Sport is brilliantly well equipped and includes 19” light alloys, Lane Departure Warning system, shadowline exterior trim (‘black pack’), electric sports seats with lumbar, cruise control with brake function and more. It has a full BMW Service History and then an additional oil change service by the previous garage who sold it (at 86k miles). The iDrive service status shows no further servicing required for 6000+ miles.
This car was £64,090 new and included >£2k of additional cost options, as specified below:
- Head-Up Display
- LOGIC7 Professional Loudspeaker System
- Bluetooth Telephone Audio Connection
- Dark Birch High-Gloss Wood Interior Trim
In addition, since buying the car last year I had it fully inspected at an independent BMW specialist (Autotech, Warwick) and carried out all recommended works in Dec-19, including:
- Deletion of swirl flaps due to minor oil leak and blanking solution installed (£357.00)
- Replacement of all glow plugs and glow plug control units due to fault codes (£118.55)
- Replacement of the intercooler charge air line pipe due to minor oil leak (£292.26)
- Replacement of rear swing arm bushes which were partly worn (£300.00)
- Four wheel alignment (£102.00)
In addition, I’ve had the following work carried out (Dec-19 and Jan-20):
- 4x brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres – only covered 900 miles on them (£703.96)
- Retrimmed the M Sport leather steering wheel as the leather on the original one was wearing out (£180.00)
- Added a Bluetooth audio interface (Bovee) to allow instant music pairing to the upgraded sound system (£99.00)
Therefore there's a big wad of invoices and receipts to give you in its history file. Happy if anyone wants to have the car independently inspected (at their cost!).
The “honest bits” I’d mention are simply some minor bodywork marks in a couple of places, many of which I think would machine polish out (if I’d had time!) including a couple of small stone chips. I would have refurbished the kerb’d alloys if I’d kept the car, and even had a quote to have it done in Coventry (£432 inc. VAT) but never did it due to selling. Otherwise, I’m confident it’s an absolute gem of an example especially mechanically (I’m very fussy!!) and I hope the price reflects this.
