Air Jacks
My jack has died and I’m looking for a replacement. I was wondering what people think about air jacks and if anyone has any experience with them.

If an air spring can do the job of lifting the D4, why not use an air jack,I already have a compressor.

Not sure about those jacks you have mentioned but we use air jacks (bags?) that inflate off the exhaust pipe. These have been especially good when stuck in the mud etc. for putting PSP plates under the tyres. They are not too bulky and come in their own bag.
Only seen them for sale in Africa/Australia though.

The first one isnt an air jack as such the air merely operates the hydraulic pump that is usually operated by the handle. The second one would need a high degree of trust before anybody gets under a vehicle lifted by one. Its hardly onerous to pump up a normal hydraulic jack

I can see where this might be useful for off road or outback emergency use,I was thinking of workshop use
or on my driveway

My drive is really rough and difficult to manoeuvre a heavy trolley jack,I know it’s easy on a smooth concrete floor or driveway.I’m looking for ideas and suggestions for easier jacking experience

Just like what I was saying about the airbag.
I use mine all the time at my house in Zim ever since I had an incident with a bottle jack and jacking plate. Also whilst you have to have some care, you don't have to worry about jacking points.
If you're going to do suspension/bushes etc. then its a different story but I wouldn't want to be under any of the other jacks your mentioned!2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)
