My standard LR fixed towbar. I like it but some may think it's ugly. The drop plate can be removed but it does protect the rear of the car when hitching up.
Towtrust do some better looking kit.
This is a TowTrust fixed towbar. It looks like a solid piece of kit and possibly more secure than the OE fixed towbar. It is bolted into place where the removable bar slots in, plus it is fixed to the chassis as well.
Regards,
Steve

Tow Trust TL1. I personally think it looks neater that the LR fixed tow bar.

My towbar is getting a bit rusty - has anyone had theirs re-finished? I was looking at POR-15 or similar but i want to keep the matt textured look. Any ideas?

I refinished my Tow Trust. It had surface rust when I got it (2nd hand) so I had it powder coated in satin black. Been on 2 years, no problems yet. Richard

Have a look on the thread I've started on roof bar coating. Some ideas about resilient coatings on there and a good video..

I would 2nd the Tow Trust TL1. Great for towing, easy to fit and looks a lot tidied than the LR one (also doesn't act like a plough if you are ever to get muddy with it attached)Chris
