Disco3 auto gear selector stuck in Park

Help! The auto gear lever is stuck in the P position. I have followed a youtube channel and have successfully managed to manually override. However, I'm still non the wiser to diagnosing the actual fault causing this. There is an amber warning light on this dash (as shown in the attached photo).
Any ideas?

Welcome aboard Grantymac.

As Flack says, a code reader is going to help tremendously. Complex beasts, these Discoverys

Brake lights work fine yeah. I was washing the centre console the day before and was wondering if excess moisture may have caused a shortage?
Fault code P0659 is showing, see attached photo.

All sorted! I stripped back the entire central control panel, disconnected all terminals and reassembled. Must have shorted out due to excess water...moral of the story don't wash your Disco3! Thanks everyone for your assistance Very Happy
