Doing some fiddling / potentially modding this afternoon and need to know
1. how do i remove the trim on side of frame below drivers seat ?
2. whilst sorting out an issue that the middle seat in middle row wouldn't latch in the down position (which turned out to be a twist in the pull-tape stopping the mechanism locking), found this. Might not even be off the car ... just sat there under the seat. Looks too flimsy (it's very light plastic) to be part of any latching system but haven't checked 3rd row seats operation yet. anyone know what it is ?

second one looks like it could be a plunger off a switch maybe for an occupant detection circuit?1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Don’t recognise #2 but #1 is part of the seat unit isn’t it. The trim that rounds it off comes off relatively easily. Dare I suggest better pic Stolen - D4 Loire Blue
D4 Bali Blue
regarding the seat trim panel - I got the end-cap off ok, just can't tell where the side bit is fixed. really don't want to snap it.

Hiya
Ref the side panel, if it’s anything like the D3 there are fixings tucked behind the panel in the front and rear, the rear fixings are best accessed through the middle row , some are Phillips or Torx heads
Hope that may help u
Ps, am still looking for that other fitting
Just wondered ref that fitting, wonder if it’s some form of stop and screws onto like a self taping screw???

Just been out to have a look for you as I have a pair of D4 seats ready to go into my D3
Heres some pics - they are just the same type of push fit clips as the front panel
Just crank the seat up to max hight to clear the side panel that sits with the seat base
around 1/4 of the way back from the front - I pulled this one out to check
rear clip about the same distance from the back
same clip from the inside of the seat (still clipped in)
@Darrind ... cheers. seen the front clip and thought that might be how it worked but hadn't sussed raising the seat. Will give it a go shortly..

The second item has a clue. There is a star washer embedded in the wider end. This to me would indicate that it’s supposed to push onto a rod, and the washer should hold it in place.
Hi Gareth, will be looking at that today. Not used 3rd row in a while but figure, if anything, this would "pretty up" the end of e.g. a peg that latches part of the seat in upright position. Base most likely as least force so smaller components..

Just pop it in the bin, this way you’ll know what it’s for a week later
