[For Sale] Knee Hole Desk - Antique?
I purchased this lovely old desk a while back to restore as I've never done a complete and reasonably large piece of furniture, but not only have I realised I'm not going to get around to it any time soon, but lets just say that Lady Nasher doesn't have the vision to see past the ripped leather top!
It measures @1370mm long x 780mm deep x 740mm high, and the top separates from the pedestals.

As can be seen the Leather insert needs replacing which will make it look a whole lot better.
But also some of the joints have come unstuck and somebody has put some coloured wood filler along a crack across the front.
It comes with all the locks, but I don't have a key for them.
Plus when I brought it there were a couple of spare drawer knobs which it looks like somebody has made.
It's obviously solid wood, but I couldn't tell you what sort of wood.

On the plus side it could look great again with a bit of love and care.
I'm looking for £25 only, but it obviously needs to be collected, which will be from Clanfield, Hampshire.
You will of course be driving here to get some exercise putting it in the back of your car, it goes in the back of a D3/4, but not being 2M long one of us will have to hold our breath whilst I help you load it up.

Love the description and concept of collection
Looking at the side I'd say it is good ol' flame mahogany - not sure if solid or veneer, although drawers look to be solid

Thanks Nigel
It really is in a bit of a state, but am going to stick it on Ebay later and see what happens.
I just thought I'd offer it on here first at what I paid for it.

Sorry guys, my son mentioned to his future Father in law that I wanted shot of it and apparently he'd taken a liking to it when he stayed with us.
He's offered me rather a lot of money for it!
Far more than I thought it was worth.

Turns out it's circa 1880 and worth @£1200-£1300 when restored, which will cost @£800 to get done professionally. He's into that sort of thing and happy(plus able) to pay the £800.
Strangely he's already sent me £200( well guessed Nigel)
I'm happy with the £200 in that case, as it's £175 more than I paid for it a few years ago and the images are on reflection being very kind to it's condition.
