Dashcam
Hi All
Anyone got recommendations re a dashcam for a 2016 D4 HSE
Something not too large, maybe even fitting into auto wiper sensor cover at the top of windscreen.
I would probably be getting it fitted by an auto spark but make and as always price could sway my decision.
Thanks

Garmin Mini
Discreet, no screen and Bluetooth app for set up etc.
I’ve had a few dash cams and this is the best so far. I like its tiny size Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Rob, does the sticky bit stick to the black part of the screen or only on the bare glass, I like the idea that this cam is so discrete but obviously less so the further down the screen it mounts.

The Blackvue is also a nice discreet dash cam, hides nicely behind the rear view mirror.
Been running mine for many years.
Not cheap tho, but for a less expensive version of the same tubular shape, then there's Road Angel for about £99....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I wanted something very small when I was looking around for a dashcam. I ended up going with tiny front and rear cameras that are wired up to central recorder.
Here is a picture of the front camera behind the rear view mirror. As you can see, it's miniscule...

I got bought the small next base one for my birthday last year, the suction cup sits up on the black shaded part of the screen and the camera sits nicely behind the rear view mirror so I cant actually see it when im driving although the passenger can.
cheap and cheerful camera, that records 720p 3 minute cycles onto an SD card and can be used to take stills as well if needed. motion sensor, built in battery etc.
not the best camera out there but im not arguing as I didn't pay for it 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

We have blackvue in the vans at work, the best the company could buy, and we don't rate them at all.
Unreliable and not much better quality than much cheaper ones.
In the cars at home we have transcend ones and they seem to be much better.

Yes, on the black part on passenger's side of RVM. The good thing is you can't see it once it's hidden behind the RVM Visitor from fullfatrr.com

not sure what model mine is but I think its the basic £49 one, no GPS but it does have G sensor to auto save before and after sudden shocks.
I bought the genuine Nextbase hardwire kit off Amazon for a bit less than what Halfords charge for it and fitted it myself in about 15 minutes piggy backed onto a switched live fuse behind the glovebox.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

I've bought five Nextbase cams of various models from Halfords over the last two or three years (the Disco, my other car, partner's car, mother's car, daughter's car!), and have found them to be pretty good - decent image quality, reliable, and good value for money.

I like the Road Angel kit. I've got the Halo Pro in both cars which has front and rear camera. The Halo Pro is not very discreet but they do smaller cameras. The hard wire kits are easy to fit and work well.
