having trouble calibrating height on LR3: raising = lowering

I've just replaced a height sensor on the front right, due to an error code.

I can raise the car manually to offroad height (but tells me its raising slowly), but dropping down to access height it tells me it's in extended mode and raises up again

After replacing the sensor the code has gone, but I seem unable to perform a guided calibration for the height sensors.
As said above, I can manually raise/lower but when I go through the guided calibration, I start with the front right (which is what I changed) and the current height is 460mm. I want 465mm so I press the ^ arrow to raise that corner - but it lowers instead. If I press v arrow it also lowers

what the heck?

Has anyone experienced this?
