[Wanted] High spec D4 WITH REAR AIR CON |
|
Looking to buy a good D4 with a high spec with rear air con (that is a must have).
Prefer light coloured leather seats and roof lining.
Service History a must over lower mileage.
Top money for the right vehicle.

What do you define as rear aircon ? I'm about to put my MY14 HSE up for sale and it has aircon in the rear but the temperature controls are at the front. (I'm not even sure that rear temperature controls are available in D4s of that vintage).

...good point.
I mean the rear roof mounted controls so separate rear air con controls. Like the XXV and a select few others pre 2014 and the odd 2015 high end model.
I have a disabled adult child who will travel there and temperature and air flow is an issue.
I have a 2016 D4 HSE Lux atm but having looked at the XXVs on the market recently that setup is way superior to the Climate/Air con that is just controlled from the front (imho anyway).
Thanks for helping clarify...

Didn’t the last d4 lux and xxv have tear air con. Either way it’s rare.
Steve You remind me of a younger me, not much younger mind...perhaps even a little older!

My MY16 65 plate HSE Lux certainly didn't come with that. Very, very few seem to have other than the limited run of XXVs in 2014.
Seems to be something to do with the introduction of ADBlu and where the tank for that is replacing the rear A/C unit and no doubt more. Who knows? It is extremely rare in the D4 but it is out there...

Hopefully! Can't see any online (other than a few XXVs which I have seen/or eliminated for various reasons).
LR Approved doing a little hunt for me..

I believe 15 plates could be specced with rear a/c, last of 15 plates got adblue so no rear a/c, weirdly adblue AND rear a/c was an option overseas!
XXV nice, but to dear for a non adblue car.

Deffo available as I have it on mine. March 15 model, and had to spec the rear air con as an extra. Downside, lost the two rearmost speakers in the C pillar, so 3rd row passengers dont hear the sound system so easily. d4 HSE

Sorry, maybe I should see but I can't. Yours is a what model? HSE, HSE Lux?
It may help my search...
Incidentally, the whole adblu so no rear aircon mystified me slightly when I looked in those rear quarter panels of an XXV yesterday. As far as I could make out the rear aircon setup seemed to be in the offside rear panel and not the nearside where the adblu tank must be (given the location of the filler cap?..).
Anyway, I am less interested in the whys and wherefores and thank you for this, it takes my search forward...

Wonder why those speakers went? They are there on the XXV? Mind you, the XXV has the 825W 17 speakers setup. Are you sure yours wasn't the 11 speaker variant of the sound system (380w I think?) and not the 17? Maybe that would explain it?

Sorry, should have said, mine is HSE. I specced the air con as extra, and didn't alter the speaker set up. My MY10 HSE had speakers all the way through, whereas my 2015 doesn't, so I assumed it was because of the air con. perhaps LR had downgraded the speaker standard on HSE, although I thought they tended to add things as models aged, not take them off... d4 HSE

Still got the spec of the MY10 and it had 14 speaker 480W system. I guess that you are right, and the standard HSE in MY15 had a poorer system...I don't have the spec sheet for that one.. d4 HSE

Just been informed there's one come in Approved near me so off to check it out soonest. I'll let you know what speaker set up it has. Thanks for tipping me the info...

Saw a 2015 D4 HSE Lux at a Dealer today. It had rear a/c but wasn't what I wanted elsewhere. It did have the two rear C pillar speakers though. 825w, 17 speaker system versus 380w, 11 speaker system the sales guy suggested.... mind you, I knew more about the vehicle than him!
