Two TDV6s into one?

2007 TDV6 with timing belt failure and a 2006 with crank shaft failure. Can a good engine be built from the two?
What issues might we run into?

Cheers all

If time is no object possibly.

Though you would need new (used) heads and oil pump. £350

People will tell you it’s unlikely to last long as it’s been stressed.

But if time is no object you could have s play

it can be done I have done it many years ago with things like mini and ford engines . strip both engines and check every thing every thing is straight and within the wear limits then see if there are enough good parts to build an engine .

What speed were you traveling at when the belt failed? I would replace belt and try. Maybe you get lucky

Assuming the top end of the crank failure engine is OK, that can be used on the engine with belt failure

I hope so... the chap I bought it from said it was a low speed failure, but he could just be telling me that... probably happened at 90mph 😂

That was my thinking. Fully aware that I might have to buy a few bits and bobs, but going to give it a go regardless. We can rip them apart and take it from there.
