This will not be brand new to many here as I got the idea for this from this excellent forum.
I love the D3 and D4 but it’s a little annoying that there is no overhead storage for sunglasses/ glasses. I’ve had it in many Range Rovers, didn’t have it in my D5 as it had RSE. I don’t like things sliding about on the binnacle area and didn’t want to keep reaching over to open the passenger cubby (top one).
Before you ask, my Oakley glasses don’t fit under the armrest either, the lid won’t shut.
So I’ve fitted an overhead holder in place of the drivers grab handle, as I’ve never used it once.
It’s a Ford Focus part, bought off eBay for £15 and almost fits directly in replacement with some fettling.
Did you know that the grab handles are Ford parts too? Explains the inter-changeability.
I’m just uploading a short 5 minute video to my YT channel and will put the link below when it’s done.
It’s also on my IG feed, so follow me at @adamtwrm to see that and more.
Happy to answer questions.

Got both the above.
Another good idea for sunglasses/glasses is to add a length of non-slip mat above the top glove box lid.
I find it ideal if I need to swap over from specs to sunglasses whilst driving, as they stay in close reach without sliding over to the passenger door side and also [due to the lid] they don't fall off.
