All D3’s have AC.
Whether it’s working is another question.

Thank you.
Booked into Halfords for a free aircon check on Monday, then only £50 to Regas. So we’ll see what they can do.

If you are going to take it somewhere, take it somewhere who can diagnose leaks as well.
Your just wasting your money if Halfords tells you it has a
Leak but don’t have equipment to fine it. As you have to start the process (and paying!) all over again where they do know what they are doing.
Mind you £50 is good if it doesn’t have a aleak, but thats unlikely.
My fill valve needed changing. (Like a tyre valve, easy)
And front condensers are common

Any recommendations in the Kent area other than Halfords then please would be much appreciated.

I use my local garage in Maidstone.
Not the cheapest, but it has been good for over a year now.
TBH any small local to you garage will do the job just fine.
Be aware the price of the R134a gas has risen considerably over the last year or so.

Have a search for mobile air con specialists. They can be very knowledgeable and reasonably priced.
Also consider replacing any leaking (rusted) pipes with plastic ones. 👍2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

It is worth taking the grill off and having a look at the condenser to see if it is rotting at the bottom, they are a common cause of leaks, it was on mine.
There is a fantastic how to written by Disco_Mikey on changing the condenser here:

Unfortunately, if the ac system hasn’t been used for some time the seals and joints are likely to have dried out and become cracked and leaking.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Of course you could just be out of gas and a quick refill sorts it. Lets hope so. David

The A/C is on all the time on these vehicles unless you press the econ button to turn it off, so it shouldnt ba a problem

Yes if there is gas, if the car detects low gas it turns the pump off to protect it.David

Yes, my poor use of words. I should have said if the ac hasn’t been working. 👍2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Start cheap, work up the price spectrum. Mine stopped working sometime over the winter, and only realised on my first hot drive through France, 38c outside and 40c inside. Luckily seat covers were waterproof. Had it regassed in Andorra, it then worked. Then a couple of months later it stopped working again so new condenser was fitted under warranty, that worked for the few years until the end of the car’s life.
