Retro fit rear heated seats in a 2012 D4 xs?

Hi,

As the title really, is it an easy plug and play job to fit the rear heated seat pads and switches to a MY2012 D4 XS?

Is the wiring already there and if so, what connectors should I look for?

Anyone successfully done it and do they have pics of their install? Nothing on here I could see.

TIA

Jim

I've ordered most of the bits (slightly different part numbers for the seat pads as I have 35/30/35 split rear seats)

Can anyone tell me the part number for the wiring loom for 35/30/35 seats as the one listed (LR015880) is for 65/35 split or is it the same part?

Also, is LR016184 (loom for centre console) needed on the xs model or is the connector hidden somewhere?

Thanks

When connecting in the looms for the rear seats, where do they plug into in the existing loom as I can't find any socket or plugs in the rear arch trim.

Nick,

I've looked there and can't see anything, I've actually removed the whole of both covers as I'm going to throw in some wiring at the same time, but I can't see anything. I'll have another look tomorrow, but I can't see how I'd have missed it. Thanks for the quick reply!
Cheers

Just double checked, split open the loom to be sure there was nothing bundled up inside and no joy. It's either buried deep behind the arch / Boot trim or there isn't one!

Hi Phil,

gutted for you - I've never heard of it not being there - mine was wrapped back on itself off that main loom .... i'm not sure how you could plug into main loom if not there but Twisted Evil

So, I would triple check that that sill loom and look for these colour wires in pic above and the connector block will have some foam insulation around it - I remember them hiding in plain sight when I was looking for them but still believe you'll have them!

If you are passing Southampton gladly have a look with you Laughing

and to be clear I think the link loom isn't in either of these places but in sill nearer where it would come out to the seat in pic above

Hi, thanks but Southampton is a bit out of my usual route, I appreciate the offer though! I'm gutted as I thought even if it wasn't 100% the fact I had front heated seats may improve the odds of it being there.

I had the loom split apart from half way up the arch to the B pillar and couldn't find anything.

The only other possibility is that it's up behind the boot trim, but as I say that's going to mean taking the drawers out as well as stripping all the trim off.

Might be a stupid question, but there is a plug on both sides right? I've only tried the drivers side up to now.

If it isn't an option at least I've thrown in the cables that I needed going to the boot so the work stripping everything back wasn't wasted.

Thanks again for your help!

my old D4 - I miss that soo much Laughing apologies how dirty it was ... but I think you need to get the whole strip off and look nearer where loom comes out (where I have circled blue) - I'm still hopeful Cool

edit
Yes both sides have the plug

Phil - finally found a nice high res pic of when my GS got HSE treatment

Here you can see that cable and I've tried to show its routing (from memory)
