Love the disclaimer “For the avoidance of any doubt, this listing is for the winch bumper mount, detachable number plate mount and fixings, it does not include a winch, rope, fairlead, hook, winch remotes or a Discovery 4, although these other items are pictured in some of the images for context.” 
A friend has on their D4 MY11 LCV the winch that sticks out (from the first post) and uses it regularly to drag up vehicles from ditches near them in the countryside.

I had the external mount one on my previous D3 but it was more of a hindrance as it limited parking spots, so I'd get the discreet mount one next time ... I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
