Should the cooling fan run after engine switched off
I recently replaced the AC compressor and the dryer had the pipes vacuumed to remove any moisture the the lot pressure tested and the re gassed, I’ve just drove back from N wales steady 6o mph with a small trailer on the back and i set the ac to full cold on the front and the back it was cool not cold, I’ve sat here and the fan kicks in but the duty cycle doesn’t go up not sure if that’s ok or not but to be honest I’ve never took any notice apart from when you start first thing it sounds like a jet engine whist the fan is fully engaged here is a screen shot does the pressure look ok does anything stand out

If it's 35.5 deg outside the fan will be trying to cool the engine down even if engine is not running.
That’s the thing my wife’s and sons cars one Audi one vw both fans run on after the car is stopped I’ve had this car for five years and the fan has never run after the car is switched off, if sat the fan kicks in to cool things down when engine running but never when offRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

Not sure if I can remember the fan running on after shutting down, but my last D3 experiences were a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, well 3 years ago in NW Norway. And believe me, she would get pretty hot off-roading in high temps, like up in the high 30s/low 40s.

Exactly!
The fans on these are engine driven as it is better for an off-roader.
If the engine isn’t running. The fan can’t run.

Isn’t there an additional electric powered rooster-booster fan?
