| Strange squeal/screech/ (Edit) whine noise! |

Just driven back from cornwall with the tin tent.
There seems to be a strange noise coming from the car. Stopped a number of times to try and find it, much to SWMBO's annoyance.
It is not audible at idle, or when revving the engine.
When driving miss daisy, it is hardly evident.
When accelerating it becomes audible as the revs get higher, then drops as it goes into the next gear, before starting again as you are due to change to the next gear. The pitch of the noise changes with the revs as well.
It isn't audible if you drop a gear manually, making the revs go up.
It is definitely linked to the accelerator. I thought turbo first of all, but not sure now.
