Just bought a 2010 Discovery 4 and drove it back to the west coast of Scotland from Chesham, Buckinghamshire! All good except the Sat Nav needs updated but don’t know how to go about updating it yet! Looking online I see there is a disc under the passenger seat but where’s best to buy a newer one? Working abroad at the moment so away from the car for a few weeks! Any help appreciated

Being a 2010 D4 I doubt you have a disk under the seat. Pretty sure for the early D4 its main dealer only, not cheap and they only have maps upto 2014 I believe, no upto date maps available from JLR. IID Tool

I've got a 2011 and went out today and it didn't seem to have street names 2 miles from my house
Most people seem to use maps on phones or get a tablet stuck in front of the sat nag screen. Updates are then free and you get traffic status too..

2005 to 2009 use a dvd to update.
2010/2011 use a FireWire hard drive to update, then an activation code. this is usually a dealer only update as the equipment to update is usually price prohibitive for the independents to bother with for the two year model range.
2012 on is via usb stick with activation code.

Just to raise this topic once more. I've just changed my D3 for a 2014 D4 and was wondering where is the USB for the map update to be found?
