DAB+ and GPS aerial options

Hi All

I am looking at installing a 7" 2 DIN screen to my Disco 2007 with a amp but no factory fitted second screen. I was going to link it into the AUX connection like many others have done but would like to get DAB + and a good GPS signal.

Can i use the FM aerials in the car currently? Would fitting a shark fin be an option?

I only want to do it once really so want to get it right.

To power the Ariel amps,
You need to do this relay mod towards the bottom stated by Andy k

Am I missing something, does the HK amp also amplify the radio antenna?

Bob, ive taken out tge HU and bypassed the amp and the sound quality is fine. At some point, I may, fit a new amp and sub, but im in no rush as I'm happy enough with the sound as is. However, the radio reception is crap and thats with an amp fitted to tge standard aerial. I am thinking of upgrading the HU i fitted to Dab so would want an aerial. I also have a mini in the car and am looking at fitting a 4/5g antenna, probably a GPS antenna. So im interested in this too.

No

There are Ariel amps in the rear that need powering though.

Accessing Center Speaker Hole (on dash near windscreen) GPS

Hi All,

First question here, so be gentle.

I've fitted an aftermarket double DIN stereo. I need to install its GPS and DAB antennas. I'd love to put them where the (empty) center speaker space is in the center of the dash under the windscreen.

Any ideas of how to run a cable from the AV area up to that space?

Thanks in advance
