Height sensors
(D3 2005)
Hi just a quick question what height should I set my suspension before removing the rear height sensors for replacement,I will be doing one at a time.
I have seen some say set it to off road height others say access height and to remove the positive battery lead,I have also read that no re-callibration is required after fitting if the battery is disconnected as no settings have changed, just start it as normal and wait a few minutes then go for a gentle test drive for the ecu to re-adjust to the new sensors.
Seems a minefield of confusing information.
Your advice please.pete truckle

Do whatever you want, but do use an axle stand!

That was quick thanks
Will use stands and chock wedges for the front wheels ,safety first and I was of the opinion to do as it sits but will still disconnect the battery
Happy Xmas

I'll stand corrected but you'll need to re-calibrate height after fitting new senors, they are what tell the ecu how high the body is, so unless the resistance and physical make up is identical to the old ones the ecu won't have the right info.
From experience when I replaced my O/S/R one one starting back up red light and suspension fault saying that sensor was out of range, ok once calibration done

They will need to be calibrated to the vehicle. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
