Difference between ACM LR006792 and VPLAE0001
Hi everybody, I can't find anywhere what's the functional difference between Audio Connectivity Module LR006792 and VPLAE0001.
Mostly, I need the USB/iPod to be used by my kids in rear seats entertainment. So if the LR006792 can be controlled via the RSE buttons on doors, it will fit completely my needs and I don't need to go for VPLAE0001. But not even sure that VPLAE0001 can be controlled by RSE...
I know that:
- both are supplying 5V to charge iPods - 5th gen onwards, with reduction also Lightning is supported
- LR006792 is older model than VPLAE0001
- LR006792 was supplied with iPod cradle, VPLAE0001 with cable
- VPLAE0001 has newer SW, obviously, but same HW revision
- both are from Dension
I saw in one Land Rover brochure, that the VPLAE0001 can be controlled also through radio buttons, not only via steering wheel, but it was for Freelander2, not Disco3.
I have now LR006792 prepared to be put to my car (after it will return from service). I have option to have VPLAE0001, but I don't know if it is worth to get this unit...
Please help me to clarify those points
Thanks,
Jan

So I found the headunit control statement. For VPLAE0001, they mention, that not only the steering wheel controls, also the main unit should control it. Is that right? Is this brochure correct?
Thanks a lot
