Air con has packed in completely now!

Following my issue with a faulty demist button on my hevac panel https://www.disco4.com/forum/post2178224.html#2178224

Now the aircon has stopped cooling completely. The fans work, and the heater heats the car, but when the interior warms up it is not getting any cooling air at all. It’s very stuffy and misting up readily.

The Max demist button is still not working properly, but I can now cancel the function by pressing Auto. However no cooling effect is felt

I haven’t got my iid tool with me, so no idea of any faults that may be present.

Is it likely that the faulty HEVAC panel has killed the aircon? Or is this likely another issue. No sign of leaking refrigerant.

Do you rear a/c Gareth? If you do it’s at an age when the rear pipes rust out.

No rear ac. I just feel that the button getting stuck last week, and the system stopping this week, is a bit of a coincidence.

The button has lost all its spring and the lightest of touch puts the system in max de mist. I then have to press Auto to cancel it. Sometimes a bump in the road can trigger it, so there is obviously some loose contacts in the switch.

I’m on holiday now, so won’t get chance to look at it until I get home. We had some really warm sunshine yesterday and it was very noticeable that the car was trying to cool down, the fans were getting higher and higher on auto, so selected 16 degrees both sides and turned the fan to position 2, but still blowing warm.
