I fully charged it from the mains, and then as advised elsewhere connected it up to the 12v supply in my D4 for a "final top-up".
The problem is that this never happens, and the TackLife is actually discharging my battery to the extent that I get a "low battery" warning if the car has been standing for a couple of days. The battery is new, replaced a few weeks ago.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I’m not seeing your issue here, are you saying you connect it up to your battery and leave it for a few days?
The engine needs to be running to top it up. The problem being you actually need about 14v to top it up which will come from the alternator. The roughly 12.2v of the battery will do nothing other than discharge.
M3bobby - my apologies; I never responded to your post.
You were of course correct; I was expecting the final boost to come when connected to the D4, irrespective of whether it was running or not.
I've carried the T6 for some 18 months & not topped up the charge for a year or so .
I had to use it today to start one of my MGs, which it did perfectly having held an 80% charge for over a year. Topped it back to 100% and it's back in the D4.
I'm very pleased with this purchase - sorry to see that there are out of stock on Amazon.
