Looking to buy 2010 D4
Hi all,
I'm looking for some help. I'm thinking of buying a stolen/recovered 2010 D4. I have run all the standard checks to see the history of the car and i'm comfortable with all of that. Due to Covid I can't go and see the car so all I really have to go on are the pictures.
I know the car was stolen (not how though) and in one of the pictures I can see the gear lever gaiter has been lifted up but no other damage to the surrounding area. I'm assuming this was done to get access to something so they could steal it. Can anyone suggest why they wanted to get to that area and if there is anything I should be concerned about that may have been damaged? I might also be barking up the wrong tree and perhaps this has come adrift by itself, i don't know if it's a common area to fail?

might have been done to access the emergency release for the handbrake, or to force the car into neutral to help tow it away if so probably not a major problem.2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey

Have you used vcheck.uk? It is well worth the £9.99 and covers more than HPI...
I always use it for any vehicle before inspection.
