Lanes near Haslemere

Hiya

Joined GLASS and asked about lanes near Haslemere, Hampshire and got a pretty-non existent reply. Im not knocking the www, clearly the site is very un-popular / un-used (albeit that was a surprise to me)...whereas this site seems to be far more popular and useful. So, asking the q here - any recommendations?

Ive done few years of laning...and thus can find lanes myself...but id like to take my nephew who has my old lwb shogun and its road-orientated, so i need non-scratchy / not too hard...hence am looking for local knowledge re which lanes to use.

Anyone any ideas?

TIA.

Around the Devils Punch bowl.
Use Hampshire CC website and Trailwise 2 which your GLASS membership allows you to access.

Stuart Boreham is the GLASS rep for Surrey and a nicer chap you couldn't hope to meet - lots of the comments on Trailwise are his and he puts in a lot of work keeping lanes open in face of local opposition (tackling off-piste driving with the Police, etc.,). Pick his brains. He has a D1 and a Lightweight.

Around Frensham is one of the few places in the UK where you can drive on sand.

I drove this lane and many others around the Surrey Hills with https://www.4x4adventuretours.co.uk/ when Tom was running a series of one-day tours on a Friday. I'm not sure if he is going to do them in 2021 (Covid being another factor) but it is well worth going (if only for the first time) with an experienced guide and some backup. It might be worth asking him. He only took a few vehicles and was happy to tailor things away from scratchy lanes if people wanted. The chaps in the Defender didn't listen to him and hit the telegraph pole Rolling Eyes .

(I was seriously worried at a couple of points)

My RRS is in the background of this image. Shocked

Hope this helps.
