First of all, sorry about any English-language mistake. I am learning, same way I am learning about our discos!.
My disco is a TDV6 S model. As you might know, it does not have the SAT NAV screen.
No problem on that, because the built in nav system doesn´t work in my country.
I an off road enthusiast, and and had been driving LR defender since 2000. I enjoy gps, cb talkings (QSOs) and all those “4x4 world†stuffs.
Well, I came into this new world, called disco 3 and I am slowly getting used on it (we get easily used on good things…)
The problems are:
- Where and How to install my things??
After reading almost all the posts in this site and taking a huge dose of courage here goes the results.
GPS:
I've mounted my Garmin 276C GPs Map where the SAT NAV should be. For better looking, I “home made†a panel for it, from an old plastic file holder… It demanded hours on a mini dremmel tool. I think it´s ok! The external antenna is over the left hand front collune (driver´s side, in Brazil) and the antenna and power cables came from behind the pannel.
CB:
My Yaesu CB was installed hided above the ignition key holder. The antenna cable came from the roof, behind the place where the Bluetooth antenna should be and the power came from the fuse box.
Ipod:
LR dealer was about to get a plenty amount of money for an ipod kit installation, but I prefered watch the Harmon Kardon backs for a better idea. There is a place for activate the aux in!! You can see the pictures bellow.
Thanks!
About tintting the front side windows: there is a darkness percentual allowed. In my photos it looks darker than they realy are...(we never know if there is som officer around )
I´d rather have wranglers MTRs for my 19´ instead dark films...
We just can not buy them here.Natanael

Your install looks better than my Garmin 610 in the centre shelf:
I think I will look out for the vinyl material you used
