HDC Fault and Suspensions lowered warning lights

Hello everyone,

Yesterday When I drive on motorway, it appear HDC fault not available and suspensions lowered warning lights, and the suspensions actual lowered, I pull out the car and restart it the warning gone, so I drive again, when it reach over 60 to 70 miles and drive for a while it happen again, back home and sit overnight, changed the brake light switch(from ebay aftermarket one) and new battery today, test drive on motorway for a while warning light appear again at 70miles speed. Speed not over 60miles, warning light not appear, it seem only happen above 60miles. Any help that would be great. Thanks

Try calibrating your steering angle sensor if you have a diagnostic machine

That sounds exactly like what I experienced this summer. Turned out to be the high pressure fuel pump that was on its way out. Replaced it and all ok. But it is an expensive job, so I don't recommend going down that path before having the fault codes read. Mine was P0087, fuel rail system pressure too low.

Thanks for your reply, I don’t have the tool to read the error code, all I can do is change battery and brake light switch Big Cry I think I will take it to garage after new year, but I m new to UK, not yet have a Familiar garage, do you suggest I go to a land rover specialist or normal garage to check it? Merry christmas

I started out by changing the brake light switch too, but that didn't work unfortunately....
The code can probably be read at any garage, but if you end up having to replace the HPFP I would definitely recommend to use a Land Rover specialist. Do your own search and use this forum to get help with the code when you have it, before you decide what needs to be done. Don't leave it to the garage to find out, better to be able to tell them exactly what to do and source your own replacement parts. That will save you a lot if money even if you do not do your own repairs.

That’s exactly what I worry about, in my past bad experience but not in UK, if you let them find out, you will need go back few more times and pay few more times but problems never fixed. Rolling Eyes

I completely understand your worry. I don't have the facilities to do much repair work either, but I always try to find out what the problem is myself before contacting a garage. I would absolutely recommend that you get your own code reader. Icarsoft I930 or LRII are good options for just over £100, you can probably get it in a matter of days. GAP IID tool is the best, but will cost you over £400.
