EPB release pulled.
I've had to release the EPB manually using the loop behind the gearstick. Had the screaming cat for a few weeks then it got stuck on, wouldn't go forward but would go backwards i presume so it can be winched on a truck backwards and not lifted. seems to much common sense for LR though.
The garage now informs me that i need a new module because i used the release. At 1k ish id rather another option. Is it knackered or does anyone know of anyone who can repair it.
Cheers

Just because you have pulled the release does not mean you need a new module.
Once re-latched, it will hopefully just be a case of correct adjustment. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Unless there is a failure the EPB will re-latch when you pull the apply leaver up. A second pull on the lever will then engage the EPB normally.

Ah there might be a failure somewhere then, it wont relatch on the switch the motor just runs until i turn it on or off if its running. But i havent adjusted the shoes since releasing it so might get it adjusted when i get the brakes done if thats possible and see if it re-latches after.

The EPB was stuck on on my automatic D3. Screeched whenever I put it into drive or if I tried to release the EPB with the switch. I managed to release the brake using the release cable and now have the car at home. I'd like to try adjusting the EPB first to see if that fixes the problem.
I've read Bodsy's Brake Bible, but I just need to clarify something - having pulled the release cable, should I try to re-latch the EPB before adjusting the parking brakes?
If I pull the EPB switch upwards, how will I know if it has re-latched?
I noticed "Lost for Words" mentioned re-latching with a diagnostic tool - can my IID tool do that?
