gear box fault code P279D
hi guys was hoping someone on here can help please - when starting up my car i get a amber triangle appear with the words gearbox fault - see picture
i have scanned the car for codes and i get the code P279D ( four wheel Drive Range signal circuit)
what does this mean and how can i resolve this problem?

Mine did it the other week. I’d not driven it for a few days and it was very cold. Put it in gear and all was well. Not done it since also haven’t had the codes read yet. I put it down to the cold, hopefully
