Altox WBUS-5 Button wiring..............SORTED!

I have the Altox WBUS-5 and would like to add the button.

The supplied button has 3 wires - green, black & yellow, do they connect to the green, black & yellow from the module?

If not, could some kind soul tell me where they connect t0 please?

Personally I wouldn't bother. I've fitted a couple of Altox and fitted the switch in a discreet location next the 12v outlet under the flap. Pressing the button will not fire the FBH if the car is running so don't be under the impression you can put it on when you want. I have not found a good reason for having it. Unless you mount it outside the vehicle it won't really help you.

My FBH works fine and starts up a few minutes after I start the car. I am unable to start the FBH via the Altox remotely so I was thinking of adding the button.
I have contacted Altox via FB and email with the fault codes but they never get back to me.

If the button doesn't work my next step will be to reset and re enter my details.

What were you doing to start it remotely? I use text but I'm convinced it used to require : in the text and that it has become case-sensitive.

Thanks for that, just tried START:10 and received the usual fault codes,

Error!
The heater does not respond to commands.

That sounds like a fault with the FBH rather than the Altox.

Have you tried connecting a battery charger to the car and then try firing it up?

Single biggest issue with FBH remote setups is low battery.

Additionally if it’s not firing up from the app or texts then it won’t fire up on the button.

Thanks for that, I'll get the charger out later this morning.

Just send it a STATUS text

HEATER OFF
GSM (0-31):
Voltage: 12.1
GPS: 6,1
Speed: 0km/h

Funnily enough I don't think it's worked since I fitted a new battery in August 2019

Just sent it another STATUS text

HEATER OFF
GSM (0-31):
Voltage: 13.3
GPS: 8,1
Speed: 0km/h

Tried to start via text & internet, result from both,

Error!
The heater does not respond to commands.
Technical info W9,1,5,4

So I doubt if it's a battery issue.

I would pull the fuse and allow the FBH to reset it may have locked out when you changed the battery

The FBH works fine within 2 mins of starting the car, I just can't start it remotely.

Does anyone have values for testing the outputs from the Altox?

Since your issue started with the battery change....
So altox also without current for a period...

Just to rule everything out, and maybe save you some time in the end..

Did you try resetting the Altox to default... and configurate it from scratch?

That is what i would do in this case...
 Best regards
Harold

Removed the plug from the Altox today, disconnected the wiring from the battery, removed the sim card and re-set the Altox unit.

Put it all back together, re entered the settings, that was a memory challenge!
No faults now, if I set to start 10 mins from the app it displays the Heater Started screen and does the countdown but the heater does not run and there is no GPS info?
If I hit the Navigation icon I get the "No connection with satellites".

I went out and turned the car round to determine if it was located in a blind spot but it made no difference to the GPS and the FBH was running due to me starting the car?

So I think the fault lies between the not Altox telling the FBH to start or the FBH not receiving the command?

After writing all this I checked for faults;
ERROR!
'The heater does not respond to commands'
Technical info; A10
