Aftermarket audio in d3 hse with logic 7

Hi there
Sat nav is old and phone doesn’t want to connect, aux won’t work on inputs so I’d like an aftermarket dab/nav/Bluetooth alpine/kenwood etc double din setup..
Easy I thought, then I started reading and confusing myself...
Seems I will need to hide my existing stereo in the dash and put the new stereo in, but what leads etc? I don’t want to disturb anything and want steering controls, phone to sync etc etc..
I’m in salisbury if anyone knows a good car ice shop nearby, I’d like to do myself given the current situation, I’m practically but not technically/ electronically minded....

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Alex

If your happy to do away with the display, you get a cable to run between the new head unit and under the drivers seat. Connects2 sell them. Mm

You won’t be able to use the steering wheel buttons to change dash settings

Disconnect the display

Thought they were more like £70

Thanks for that..
I’d like to keep the wheel controls, amp/speakers and the display, from what I’ve read I can if I leave the original ‘head unit’ in and piggy back off that..
I’ll try to post a very similar one I’ve found from eBay and an Aussie place too...
Cheers

I’ve used these guys for an upgrade kit in a Volvo and it worked perfectly, they do a similar kit for a Disco so it might be worth giving them a call.... not affiliated in any way but they seem to suggest that you can retain use of the 4x4 display and sat nav... let us know what they say..

Not too far from you in Exeter Laughing
I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Thanks nige
I’d seen their site but not that specific kit, seems well thought out so I’ve emailed them to see what they say as they note that it is not diy fitment!… electronics are not my forte....
Cheers
